Eliška Brtnická

Action-oriented experimenter, performer and acrobat Eliška Brtnická has long been an established figure in the field of physical Czech theatre. Her work consistently combines a high level of physical expression with exceptional acrobatic skills, particularly on rope, trapeze and aerial silks. In her creative practice, she combines her outstanding physical abilities with bold artistic exploration and a personal commitment to the themes she investigates.

In her performance Hang Out, the delicate and lyrical Eliška Brtnická takes on daring, physically demanding and risky actions on ledges and building façades, bridge structures, scaffolding, cranes and elevated platforms, confronting audiences with their memories of childhood experiments with fear. Even in the harshest environments, and thanks in part to the high quality of her performance equipment, she maintains a sense of perspective and tenderness.
